Democrat, Ok, Republican, No Way

Democrats in the Massachusetts legislature have once again changed the law to now allow the Governor to appoint replacements to the senate. Apparently, as suggested by the senate minority leader, the law governing replacements should read: Democrat Governor’s can appoint replacements but not Republican Governors. Now that sounds fair!

This is a place holder appointment until the voters of the Commonwealth have a chance to vote for whoever democrats tell them to. Senatorial slots in MA are lifetime positions and they will want to try and find the best communist possible, or a Kennedy. (But, I repeat myself)

The senator, Paul Kirk, is a long time Kennedy apparatchik who can be relied upon to support the socialist agenda so important to the White House. Gov. Patrick said "In the next few weeks he will carry on the work of Sen. Kennedy . . . mindful of his values."

At 71 it is questionable whether Kirk can make good on the Governor’s promise. At that age, unless he has practiced long and hard, it very difficult to drink that much scotch and to wench into the wee hours on any kind of a regular basis. With the possible exception of Christopher Dodd, Mr. Kennedy was without peer in this crucial area of government. We will just have to wait and see.

During this interim period, this writer suggests that all young females working in DC might want to continue to not accept rides from Mr. Kennedy’s replacement, that is, unless they are strong swimmers.
