Update!! Yesterday's unified vote by all House Republicans, joined by 11 brave Democrats, failed to stop the newest $825 billion dollar boondoggle but showed that there may be hope left for the GOP, even under the current leadership. The vote gives Obama and Pelosi full ownership for the bill's success or failure, and since this pork laden package has little chance of doing any more than paying off democrat support groups, the outcome is not much in doubt. The economy will continue to struggle but ACORN will get a big pay raise!
Now, the GOP must hit the airwaves, internet, and print media with the contents of this package and explain what their alternatives were and how those alternatives had a chance of actually working. Voters were outraged at the Bush $700 billion dollar welfare check for Wall Street and the Banking sector, not to mention the auto industry, and now, here comes $800+ billion to follow that money down the drain while unemployment, foreclosures and falling home values continue unabated. Well, Obama said he was bringing change, who knew it meant he'd spend more than Bush!
This bill is shovel-ready, it should be buried! Next up, the senate gets it's turn. Will GOP senators deserve to have their titles and their august body capitalized as shown above for House Republicans?
This title has been in my pending folder since inauguration day. I intended to champion the cause of the GOP as they tried to put into action their newly re-discovered conservatives roots. So far I've got nothing!
