Global Idiot of the Day:
Today's coveted Global Idiot Award goes to the prestigious Leibniz Institute of Marine Sciences one of Germany's finest bastions of knowledge. In an unprecedented action they have given us an extra ten years of cold weather. They did stop short of actually saying that it was really getting colder but this should lop a few years off of the Goracles "fry by 2020" scenario. Here is what was reported by Bloomberg.com:
"April 30 (Bloomberg) -- Parts of North America and Europe may cool naturally over the next decade, as shifting ocean currents temporarily blunt the global-warming effect caused by mankind..."
"Those natural climate variations could be stronger than the global-warming trend over the next 10-year period,'' Wood said in an interview. ``Without knowing that, you might erroneously think there's no global warming going on.''"
This supposedly is somehow different than Dr. William Gray's statement that it was just going to get colder as part of the natural cycle. Of Course the eminent Climatologist also said that Global Warming was a hoax, an inconvient statement if I ever saw one. The reader can doubtlessly see the tremendous difference between colder weather and warm weather that just seems to be cold. Thank heaven they cleared that up for us!
