Semper Virens???

Time CoverTime magazine’s cover for the April 21st issue is an all time low in the lunacy that is Globull Warming. They mock one of the most sacred icons of America and the tribute to those brave Marines who fought and died on a tiny black sand island to end the threat of the Japanese Empire. That monument has come to symbolize not just their sacrifice, but also that of all of the Marines who have served their country with honor and distinction since 1775 and continue to do so to this day in Iraq and Afghanistan. The names and dates of every principal engagement fought by the Corps since it’s formation are to be found on the base of the monument etched in gold. The statement by Adm. Chester Nimitz is proudly featured and reads, “Uncommon Valor was a Common Virtue”. The monument is dedicated to all those Marines who have given their lives in defense of the country.

Time magazine seeks to equate those struggles to the fight for climate change. It boggles the mind to imagine that there are any persons of reason living and working in America who could possibly be so clueless as to compare the violent deaths of ten of thousands with the nebulous scam being perpetrated on the world in general and America in particular. It simply goes beyond contemptible and truly defies this writer’s ability to describe it in words. At least not words I can write on Townhall. It begs the question of what people like those at Time magazine could possibly hold sacred. Is there nothing that is out of bounds? No disgusting image they won’t print? I would be willing to wager all I have that they wouldn’t dare to publish a cover portraying Allah or even Che executing counter-revolutionaries during the post Cuban take over. They are dishonorable cowards of the first water and deserving of the contempt and condemnation all people of honor. It can only be hoped that there is a very special place in hell for these ideology driven socialists.

Donald Mapes, a veteran of Iwo Jima, was quoted by the Media & Business Institute as say, “It’s an absolute disgrace,” Mates said. “Whoever did it is going to hell. That’s a mortal sin. God forbid he runs into a Marine that was an Iwo Jima survivor.” Let me add that God forbid he ever runs into a Marine period.

Lt Wells, an Officer and a gentleman and a man of some eloquence is also quoted.

“Lt. John Keith Wells, the leader of the platoon that raised the flags on Mt. Suribachi and co-author of “Give Me Fifty Marines Not Afraid to Die: Iwo Jima” wasn’t impressed with Time’s efforts.”

“That global warming is the biggest joke I’ve ever known,” Wells told the Business & Media Institute. “[W]e’ll stick a dadgum tree up somebody’s rear if they want that and think that’s going to cure something.”

The President has recently joined this merry band of global idiots with his fact absent pander to green America, as has the formerly respected Newt Gingrich. The GOP nominee is onboard as are his so-called opponents. Is this really the side of this issue that they choose to align themselves with? Thus far the silence from these leaders is deafening. He that lieth down with Dogs, shall rise up with Fleas. – Benjamin Franklin
